My New Gadget

Very rarely do packages get sent to me :-(
But when they do, I sure get excited!!

I was expecting this package today. In fact, I even put a note on the door for the Fed Ex guy with a second address to deliver to, just in case he decided to come during the only 3 hours nobody was at home.

So this is my Mother's Day present. I wouldn't say I'm really a gadget kind of girl (however I do love my DVR!!)
But I am excited about being able to update my Facebook page, check my email and of course, update my blog.
But first I have to figure out how to use the darn thing!!!

We do get A LOT of packages delivered to our house. But they are usually for Mr. Nate. He gets all sort of packages. I'm used to opening packages of diapers, special formula or even medical goodies like this:

Not so much fun!

Last week I was thrilled to find a package waiting for me when I got home from work. Addressed to ME. From Godiva Chocolate! In case you didn't know this already, I LOVE chocolate!!

When I opened the box, I found this inside:

And this was inside that pretty little box:

And now the box is completely empty. I thoroughly enjoyed every last one of those truffles!!

All Things Girly

Momma's got some new bling!! This picture really doesn't do it justice, but I absolutely love my ring! I was so undecided about whether to get a round diamond or go with a princess cut. I think I made the right choice. Do you agree? Here's a picture of the original ring. It was really beautiful too. You can read more about my lost diamond here: diamonds

I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful mother in law who gave her grandmother's ring to her son to give to me. Hugs and kisses to you, Vicki!!

And just for fun, some totally impractical baby shoes!

Happy Mother's Day

My one request for Mother's Day was granted...I wanted a picture of me with my 4 beautiful children on the porch swing. We were a little nervous about getting too much weight on it. That's why I'm standing behind.

You see, it was my grandma's porch swing. Then my brother had it. And now it's all mine! After it sat on our porch for several months, I finally got Jeremy to hang it. And I painted it. I love it!

My grandma loves to rock and swing and has as long as I can remember. We would sit on the porch swing and she would sing "Abba Dabba Honeymoon" and other silly songs. I hope my kids will have great memories of spending time on the swing as well.

So far it's been a lovely Mother's Day. We've only had a few meltdowns:

  • It's not fair that Mom's getting a new blackberry for Mother's Day (yes that's what my dear husband got me. What a super guy!)

  • I HAVE to go to the Y to workout

  • Waaaahhhhhh (I only want mommy to hold me)

One meltdown from each of my girls (can you guess who goes with which fit?) Nate on the other hand was my perfect little guy, as always!

But sweet Allison made up for it with this card:

I made this tutu a month ago after finding a pattern online. We had a lot of fun this morning playing dress up.

You can find this easy pattern here: baby tutu:

We had a very productive day today. I made a list of things that need to be done and Jeremy was able to check these 3 things off the list:
  1. clean out the gutters
  2. go to compost
  3. hang my porch swing

I love my husband (and lists)!

And if you're wondering what I was doing while Jeremy was hard at work...I was busy shopping with Delaney!

Our Awesome Babysitters

Remember that yummy dinner from last night (the leftovers were even better today, by the way!)? Well in order to actually prepare dinner, I had to "hire" the twins from across the street to entertain Delaney. They are so good with her and it's wonderful for me to have a couple of great helpers!

While dinner was in the oven, we decided to head outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. The girls went and got their sidewalk chalk and bubbles and we had a blast!

She really wanted me to take a picture while she was jumping. So fun!

Thanks for all the fun, girls!!!
