my brave girl

Delaney decided she was ready to get her ears pierced. She’s been talking about it for awhile, so we agreed to let her go for it. I took her to the mall and we picked out her earrings. April birthstones really are the best!

She was so brave. No tears and barely a flinch. She’s also been a trooper about cleaning them twice a day. Now she’s counting down the days until she gets to wear dangling earrings. The fun just never stops!

A few weeks ago, my mom and I traveled to Olathe, KS for the Miss Kansas Dance Festival for the final time (at least for several years).

The girls entered three routines and did a great job!

They earned 5 trophies.

It’s a little sad to think that this is over for Allison. It’s been such a huge part of her life these past 4 years. But high school is winding down and college life is on the horizon. So proud of you, Allison!!

snow day fun

We’ve been watching the rest of the country dig out of snow for days…weeks. We watched as hundreds of children were snowed in at their schools overnight (not at all envious of that scenario). We’ve read post after post on Facebook about snow days. And all the while, we’ve just been cold and dry. Until today…we finally got our coveted SNOW DAY!!!!

Snow days are great for sleeping in, drinking fancy coffee (thank you Keurig) in our jammies til noon, watching Sunday’s episode of Downton Abbey, catching up on reading, catching up on the blog (woohoo) and of course, playing in the snow.

In case you’re wondering about that awesome Bears hat, it was a Christmas gift from Scott. Now he’s the ultimate JerBear. Thanks, Scott!!
