Here is a quick peek at our first day of vacation, sans kids! First stop, Monterey, CA.
We were up at 4:30 am and on our way to not so sunny California. We were surprised at all the snow on the mountains.
We stayed with Jeremy’s uncle and aunt, Tom and Barbara. They took us sight-seeing around Monterey and Carmel.
These are the grandstands that were set up at Pebble Beach for the U.S. Open golf tournament. Pebble Beach was closed to the public all week, but we got this view of the 18th hole from Carmel Beach.
Surfers at Carmel Beach. They didn’t let the overcast skies or icy cold waters stop them.
We also walked around Cannery Row. It’s pretty touristy with lots of shops and chain restaurants.
We ate dinner at Hula’s in Monterey/Seaside. I had coconut encrusted hapu. Yum!!
