And along with this request, came the request that everyone wear jeans and a solid red or white shirt.
Tell me the truth, am I asking too much?
Well, without naming names, I will tell you that I had a couple of uncooperative family members (and only one was a child, if you catch my drift).
A certain someone was not too happy about having to change out of his/her loungewear and into jeans.
And another certain someone did not want to brush his/her hair.
So, I must confess. I lost it!
I yelled, "FORGET IT!! WE JUST WON'T HAVE A CHRISTMAS PICTURE THIS YEAR! I WOULDN'T WANT TO INCONVENIENCE ANYONE IN THIS FAMILY!!"
And they all scattered.
And we didn't take a single picture.
Then I was looking at blogs throughout the week, and saw all the great family Christmas pictures. Which made me feel sorry for myself.
So I begged my children for forgiveness and asked in my nicest voice, "Would you please be willing to take a picture with one of your siblings?" And I didn't even require red or white. Whatever they could find (end of the week...laundry was piled up!)
All parties were willing and we gave it a go.
And you know what?
It was soooo much easier to take their pictures two at a time!
I may have stumbled upon a new tradition.
I hope you have the Merriest of Christmases! And May God bless you this Christmas season!
I am glad that I am not the only one who has a family that needs redirection at times!! I think your pictures look great!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the two at at time idea. I just might have to borrow that one! The pictures are great!
