a day at the beauty shop

Ashley gave Allison a body wave perm.
And cut about 2 inches off her hair.
The rolling was quite a process. Took about 2 hours just for that step.
But we didn't mind hanging out. It's great to catch up with Ashley.

Ta-da!! I think it's a great look for Allison!

school spirit

Delaney absolutely loves to go on walks. If I even mention the word "walk," she heads to the door. She's a great rider and waves to people and sometimes even sings herself to sleep.

On Thursday, Allison was cheering at a football game. And since the stadium is within walking distance, we killed two birds with one stone.
We got in our exercise AND supported our favorite cheerleader.

Delaney was all kicked back and ready to go with her feet propped up and raisins in hand. She knows how to enjoy a good ride!

Delaney will be a great cheerleader someday (if her daddy doesn't turn her into a soccer star). She loved clapping for the team!

And she was very intrigued by the bluejay mascot.
Until she had an opportunity to get up close and personal.
I guess I'd be intimidated by a giant furry bird too!

full moon party

No, it has nothing to do with vampires or werewolves or the Twilight books. Come on, people!

Aunt Lou Lou (AKA Craig's wife, Brenda) invited the girls to watch the full moon one summer night a couple of years ago. And there a tradition was born. Last night was the third annual Full Moon Party.

Uncle Craig pitched a tent in the backyard and all the girls slept out there. Well, not Aunt Lou Lou. But all the other girls did.

The girls roasted marshmallows over the fire, played some games, ate lots of yummy food and of course, looked at the moon.

I really felt guilty dropping off the girls last night. Brenda is also a third grade teacher in my school district and her building was being renovated over the summer. So she's been spending hour after hour this week trying to get things in order and ready for her eager third graders to arrive next week.

Thank you, Aunt Lou Lou, for taking a few hours out of your busy schedule to be a super grandma and great-aunt. What wonderful memories were in the making last night!!

ps - Does this count as camping??

camp...week two

Allison had a great time last week at church camp (other than all the rain).
She got home last Friday and then headed out again on Sunday to be a junior counselor at the elementary camp.
She is very excited about this opportunity.

my girl has skills

Allison made this pillow!
She knitted it with knitting needles. (I don't even know how to knit.)
It took her close to a year to finish. But she stuck with it and look at what she accomplished!

And in the spirit of giving, she gave this to her future aunt whose favorite color is "rainbow".

So talented! She makes me proud!
