Delaney loves the zoo and wants to go all the time. For the past month, that’s all she’s talked about. Fortunately, we had 60 degree temps during Christmas break and were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather while appeasing Delaney.
Even though we had a wickedly hot summer, we have had our share of lovely weather this fall and winter. But now I think I’m ready for some snow. Heavy snow that lasts for days and cancels school!!
I’ve decided to rename Christmas 2011 “A Handmade Christmas.” Jeremy is likely to call it “Crafting Christmas from Hell!”
I’ve been a little edgy this past week trying to finish last minute crafts and Christmas gifts. I was sort of on creative inspiration overload from pinterest. In fact, for the past week, I had to cut myself off from pinning whenever I logged on.

I also tried to get a little baking done before Christmas. This was about the extent of it though…
It was enough to please Delaney and made an easy and yummy treat to munch on.
Now that Christmas is over, I’m ready to find some new creative inspirations. Maybe I’ll even make something for myself!!
We celebrated Christmas 3 times on Christmas Eve. We started with our family Christmas at home. Followed by Christmas with Jeremy’s family at noon. Then we celebrated with my family after the Christmas Eve service at church. And because I failed to post pictures of my house decorated with holiday cheer, I’m including those today as well.
Delaney was so patient while she waited for Daddy and Nate to join us to open presents (Nate’s morning routine takes about 30-45 minutes). That probably seemed like an eternity to a 3 year old looking at a pile of presents to open!
And one of the neatest gifts was opening up our newspaper on Christmas Eve and finding this:

This was a Christmas first…prime rib. We weren’t exactly sure if we would find raw meat when cutting into it but it turned out delicious!
There was also some dancing that took place after the gifts were opened. Erika got Just Dance 3 for the Kinect. But I opted to omit those photos in order to prevent embarrassment of the participants. After all, it is Christmas!!
Since Santa will be visiting us a day early, tonight Dexter will leave with Santa. We sure have enjoyed having him around this year and will look forward to more adventures next year! Here’s what he’s been up to the past few days…

A friend informed me that I hadn’t been keeping up on posting Dexter’s whereabouts. I’ve just been so busy with Christmas crafts and making gifts, I haven’t had time to sit at the computer. Heck, I haven’t even watched Survivor from Wednesday!
I can’t share my crafting projects just yet because they just might be gifts for people who read my blog. But I’ll try to share after Christmas. Until then, here’s a little Dexter…

Three more days of school this week. Then we have celebration after celebration for the next week! We do like to party!! :)
